Followup: I found an old Excel 4.0 Invoice template that I used to use containing VBA macros. Here are the results: 1. MS Excel 2002: opens & works correctly after allowing macros. 2. OOo 2.3 (linux & windows): script errors after allowing macros. 3. StarOffice 8 (update 8): script errors after allowing macros. 3. Ubuntu'ized OOo 2.2.0: partially works - got Basic Runtime error 423 on several of the macros.
