Thank you for taking that long trip NoOp! I really appreciate it!

This gives me some hope that it will work. Though I am still undecided
whether I will go for kubuntu or mandriva. It just seems to me that kubuntu
is sort of a branch project of ubuntu (thought it uses the same code) and
all developers' attention goes to ubuntu-gnome-edition. In my opinion it is
sort of unprofessional when I stick kubuntu installation CD and it just
shows me black screen only because I have ATI Radeon card. There is nothing
like errata on the site so I had to dig forums to find out that I have to
use an alternative ISO.

Yesterday I tried Mandriva 2008 RC2 and it all went pretty well with
graphical install, though I DID have problems with ATI card with resolution.
But I am ready to forgive them because it is just a RC. And of course I
could intall OO 2.3 w/o any problems.

But again, thank you very much for your effort! I may as well switch to
kubuntu when gutsy is ready.
