Thank you for taking that long trip NoOp! I really appreciate it! This gives me some hope that it will work. Though I am still undecided whether I will go for kubuntu or mandriva. It just seems to me that kubuntu is sort of a branch project of ubuntu (thought it uses the same code) and all developers' attention goes to ubuntu-gnome-edition. In my opinion it is sort of unprofessional when I stick kubuntu installation CD and it just shows me black screen only because I have ATI Radeon card. There is nothing like errata on the site so I had to dig forums to find out that I have to use an alternative ISO.
Yesterday I tried Mandriva 2008 RC2 and it all went pretty well with graphical install, though I DID have problems with ATI card with resolution. But I am ready to forgive them because it is just a RC. And of course I could intall OO 2.3 w/o any problems. But again, thank you very much for your effort! I may as well switch to kubuntu when gutsy is ready. NoOp-4 wrote: > > On 09/25/2007 06:06 PM, NoOp wrote: >> On 09/25/2007 02:08 PM, aya wrote: >>> Nope, I haven't tried that.
