My first response was to gently explain to the sender the error of his ways- this is important because he communicates with hundreds of people around the world including many poor nations. I've requested that he re-sends it in a more appropriate format I've also pointed him to openoffice.org I'll take a look at the ubuntu forum suggestions. From another thread I see someone has suggested that docx support will be available in OOo v. 3 expected in 12 months. Frankly I think that is way too long to wait to be able to mix it with the big boy- not that I can offer any programming expertise to hurry it up! This is going to be a problem that spreads like the plague over the next 12 months as people get sucked into the "upgrade or perish" cycle and start spreading these things around like a virus! -- God bless you, Keith Bates 4 Mooloobar St Narrabri NSW 2390 Phone: 02 67924890 Fax: 02 67925418 www.new-life.org.au If you don't have a reason to live JESUS IS THE ANSWER!
