Hi:
Some research suggests this problem has come up before, but I have yet
to see an actual solution for it.
I'm running OOo 2.2.1 on Linux x86, 2.6.22.
When I try to import a new template using the template organizer from
the File menu, OOo throws an error dialog which says:
"Error copying template "[path/to/template/file.ott]" A template with
that name may already exist."
This happens even if the template does not exist :)
I just noticed that if I import a regular odt file, the import works.
Would this qualify as a bug?

Hi Stephen
Just a thought, do you have permissions to write to that directory?
Yes. I checked those -- even tried ripping them wide open. Same result.
May be trying to write to the system directories
eg /opt/openoffice.org2.2/share/template/
Possible, but unlikely -- all of the templates in that directory are the
default templates. I have a bunch of custom templates installed, but
they are all in my .ooo2.0 directory.
It also doesn't quite explain why, when I try to import an actual
template file (.ott) it doesn't work, but when I import a regular file
(.odt) the import works fine.
Have a look in Tools-Options-Paths-Templates

Thanks, though. I've filed this as a bug.
