1. When you insert the CD select "Open in Explorer" from the menu of possible actions. 2. For *one* instance of each *type* of file (.doc, .xls, .ppt, ...) *right* click on the instance and choose "Open with". Then choose "soffice.exe" from the list of possible programs. If soffice.exe isn't in the list, browse for it in the folder where you installed OpenOffice, typically "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.3\program". Make sure the "Always use this program" box is checked. Having done one instance of a file type you will have permanently changed the "file association" for that type. Subsequently you will be simply able to double click a file of that type for it to open automagically in the relevant OpenOffice module (Writer, Calc, Impress etc.) Read up about File Associations in the Windows Help for a better understanding of what is happening. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
