I've tried your spreadsheet on my machine and both the updating of the
matrices and the re-draw of the resulting graph is not as snappy as it is in
Excel, but it still took only ~2 seconds.
This one may depend on spec's of the machine being used. Was it faster in
previous releases on the same machine?

Only took a couple of seconds for me as well, and my computer is more
than a year old and was not a top of the line computer when I built it
either. I do, however, have 4GB of RAM.
