Hi there,
I have downloaded OpenOffice.org 2.2, but it does not allow me to install it on
my MacBook using OS X version 10.4.10.
The message on the screen says, "OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X cannot be started, because the X11 software is not installed. Please install Apple X11 first from the Mac OS X install DVD."
I have tried to install X11 from Apple website, but it suggested that my system
does not require it. I do not have my Mac Install CD with me, so I have not
concluded that that's entirely impossible. But I thought the X11 file on
Apple's website is the same. Isn't it?
Any suggestions or insights would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Larry
Did you actually read the screen messaged you quoted? - "Please install
Apple X11 first from the Mac OS X install DVD"
X11 must be installed from your install disk. The version on Apple's
website is only for version Mac OS 10.3 and does not work on 10.4.
