The version is one provided by Novell/OpenSUSE. I see slight differences,
for instance the drop-down menu under "insert" has no icon
against "hyperlink".

I've now tried OOo under XP and spotted where I think the problem *may* lie.
In the particular hyperlink, the failure occurs at the same point as where,
in my trial on XP, predictive typing begins - typing "m" yields "mirror" -
but this doesn't explain why it didn't fail on other hyperlinks.

I'll raise this problem on a Novell newsgroup but they may say the problem
could be associated with the Linux version of OOo and not with any
modifications they've made. They correctly pointed out that some annoying
differences I reported with their version of Firefox were actually features
of the Firefox Linux release.
