I just now installed Open Office as part of an offer combined with an 
update of Java.  After the installation was complete it immediately 
froze.  I got the "this program is not responding" blurb and then 
another window invited me to continue the download.  I bit and followed 
the instructions and whaddya know!  It offered new options one of which 
was to remove Open Office.  I did.
