Assume that you have saved the macro already.

Use Tools | Customize to open the customize dialog

I assume you want a keyboard short cut, so select the Keyboard tab.

Lower left corner it says "Category". Scroll to the bottom of the list, where you will see your macros labeled as "OpenOffice.org Macros"

Expand OpenOffice.org Macros. Under "User", are your own macros.

That explains the part that most people have difficulty finding.

This process should be outlined in the documentation. Have you looked at documentation.openoffice.org?

Can someone please walk me through assigning a short cut to a macro and saving
