Thanks a bunch. With your help I was able to solve the problem. I tried to 
follow the manual, but it was over my head.

I assume you want a keyboard short cut, so select the Keyboard tab.

Lower left corner it says "Category". Scroll to the bottom of the list, 
where you will see your macros labeled as "OpenOffice.org Macros"

Expand OpenOffice.org Macros. Under "User", are your own macros.

That explains the part that most people have difficulty finding.

This process should be outlined in the documentation. Have you looked at 
documentation.openoffice.org?
