In addition to the other's responses , if you don't wish to always have to "Save as" with every spreadsheet you make to convert it to Excel format you may set Calc so that it saves to Excel format every time a spreadsheet is saved. To make that change: 1. open Calc 2. select Tools then Options... from the menu 3. open the Load/Save list 4. click on the 'General' option under Load/Save 5. where it says 'Document type' select 'Spreadsheet' 6. to the right of this, where it reads 'Always save as' pick the Excel format you want Calc to save your spreadsheets as 7. click OK >From now on Calc will save your spreadsheets as the Excel type you specified.
