There are NO popups or advertising. OpenOffice.org is free to download and use. That's it, there are no catches That is how the open source world works.
Companies earn their money with OpenOffice.org by supplying added value. That added value can be in professional paid support, additional templates, clipart, fonts, etc. and so on.
