Hello Gino, You can download and use OpenOffice in parallel to Microsoft Office 2003, you only need to make sure that you keep the extensions .doc, .xls and so on associated with Microsoft Office (watch out for this question when you install!). OpenOffice.org is not a clone of Microsoft Office, you will find that some things are easier to do with OO.o and others are easier with MSO. Personally I use OO.o for three reasons: 1. I like OO.o more 2. I get all the support I need when I need it. 3. I prefer to use Linux, where OO.o is the obvious choice (having said that, I have OO.o also on my WindowsXP partition. last but not least: 4. I have Office 97 (?? not quite sure... it came pre installed when I bought the PC) and did not want/need to spend more money to "upgrade" Cheers, Michele
