Thank you for you response to this technical issue. I have located the installer via "downloads". However the error message said that the file is corrupted. I would appreciate any other suggestions.

It's entirely possible that there was an error in downloading. Do you know if the file transfer completed successfully? Depending on whether you got the JRE included version, the file size should be either 106 or 119 MB. If it's not one of those, then the download likely failed. You can also check for file corruption, by following the instructions here. http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/md5sums.html
