For those who have been having troubles starting OpenOffice on
Leopard, it has previously been advised that the version of X11 there
is problematic. Instructions for installing a new version are
available here: http://www.x.org/wiki/XDarwin . Beware, the
installation method requires typing in the Terminal. Those who get
sweaty palms when faced with a blinking cursor might want to wait
until an official software update addresses this. However, Apple
doesn't seem too concerned, so you might be in for a long wait...
