Daniel,

If it's Jaguar, OpenOffice.org 2.3 will run on it. Only the 'legacy'
build OOo 1.1.2 will run with Mac OS X 10.2.
Alternative is to make an extra partition on your hard disk and run
some Linux flavour on it, that will work with OOo 2.3. You could also
try Knoppix (Linux on a LiveCD), so you don't need a new partition.
