I am creating a new Base database for my collection of 20 odd
thousand URL's and sites of interest. I am however having a problem
in importing or placing the data, that is in a csv file, into the database.
My csv data is separated by semicolons and is in three columns
namely ID, Description, URL.
I created a table in design view with the above columns but have so
far been unable to import data!
I am using OOo.org 2.0.
How can I import the data as there is no chance I am re-entering 20
000 bookmarks?
o Go to File | New > | Database to create a new database.
o In the first panel of the wizard, select "Connect to an existing
database" and then Text from the drop-down menu.
o In the second panel, select "'Comma separated value' files
(*.csv)" and ensure "Field separator" is correct.
o Select Browse and navigate to the folder containing your .csv file.
o Complete the wizard, giving the new database a name and saving it.
o Select Tables in the left panel and you should see a table
corresponding to your .csv data in the lower panel.
I trust this helps.
