Dear Frank,
I have saved the attached file, composed using 'writer', into 'Word 2007'.
I did this as I need to use the file on a friend's computer which has 'Word'
but not 'Open Office''.
Not only was I unable to operate the 'sort' facility I was unable to open the
file - I notice that the file has not saved as an 'Open office' document. Why,
it normally does so?
Sorry, it seems a muddle to me. I thought that 'Open Office' was compatible
with 'Word' ?

Describe the exact steps that you took, in detail. You haven't given us enough
information to advise you at all.
