For what it's worth, I don't think this is what is happening, in fact. It is your mail client, I believe - not each recipient's - that is retrieving a copy of the graphic from wherever and embedding it in each message before transmission. So the 2910 bytes of PNG-format graphic is included, encoded, in each message. Indeed, my mail client has to rename all copies it receives but the first to avoid naming conflicts.

For the avoidance of doubt, this is not a criticism of what you are doing, but just a correction of your explanation.
