Hello, I keep reading but still can not understand. Are you offering a free subtitute to Microsoft Office? Simple as that, download and use? Is there anything more I need to know or do I really understand? Please explain so I can be sure that I can download? Thank you in advance. Best Regards Danny Lev Sade OpenOffice is indeed a free substitute for Microsoft Office. Sun uses open source software in the development of it's StarOffice. OpenOffice is the free version of that open source software. There is absolutely no cost for using OpenOffice and you can use it on as many computers as you wish. You are also free to pass it around to others. There are some things Microsoft Office does better and some OpenOffice does. OpenOffice also includes a few things that MS Office doesn't, including a drawing app and it can also create PDF files. For the majority of users, OpenOffice is all they need. Unlike Microsoft Office, it is available of many different operating systems and also uses the ISO standard ODF file formats, which Microsoft refuses to support. When you download it, be sure to get it from www.openoffice.org, as there are some who charge for the download. |
