I am trying to type a Writer document in a brand new installation of
OOo 2.2.0 on Ubuntu Feisty. Every minute or so, a dialog titled
"formats and numbers" (translated) pops up, grabs focus, and generally
frustrates me. I thought that maybe I was touching the touchpad of
this laptop accidentally, but that is not the case (triple checked,
details upon request). I have never had this problem before, and I
have used OOo on this machine in a previous Feisty installation (same
hardware).

What causes that dialog to pop up, and how can I prevent it? I've
gotten to the point where I'm typing in Kate and then pasting into OOo
to get my work done today.

Thanks in advance.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
