[users] OOo 2.2 - Generating Base tables from semicolon-delimited .txt data

Have seven .txt table files exported from an MS-Access database, which 
is no longer accessible 'cause the underlying Win98SE is broken. The 
tables are interrelated with one another, but not similar in structure.
I read Solveig Hoagland's article on importing various types of data 
into Base, but she does not detail how to do this directly from .txt or 
.csv files.
Could someone explain to me how to use these .txt files to generate Base 
tables?
Any help will be thankfully appreciated
