In Calc, I have a chart that plots two functions on the same graph.
One is in the colour purple, and the other in orange. Next to the
graph is legend that has the two colours, labeled "column B" and
"column C". How do I change the text of the legend? Both random and
calculated right clicks on the area have produced no configurable
dialogs. Thanks in advance.

I must add, that I had the displeasure of trying to make similar
graphs in MS Office 2003 earlier this week. OOo beats at least that
version of MS Office out of the water in advanced graphing. I am very
impressed, and I thank those responsible for that.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
Dotan:

When in chart edit mode right click for "Data Ranges" or from the menu: Format > Data Ranges > Data Series > Range for Name.

This allows you to select a range on the worksheet that has the data name you want. Unlike Excel, you cannot enter a text name in the dialog box.

Hope this helps.
