This is my first time writing to Open Office.
Welcome Herold!
If I have gone to the wrong address, please pass this E-Mail on to
the right department, thank you
You do have the correct address. There is no department, you are talking
to fellow users.
Hi from Vienna,
Where do I find "correction mode" in "Open Office".
Some time ago I switched from MS-Office to "Open Office".
I correspond in German (Austrian German)
French (French French)
English (UK English)
I do not find the Correction mode for these Languages in "Open
Office". Can somebody help me?? Cheers.
I am guessing that when you use the term "correction mode", you mean
automatic spell checking while you type. If this is your meaning, then
you will need to configure OOo (OpenOffice.org) to ensure that it works
correctly for your language(s)/dialect(s).
You can use the "File -> Wizards -> Install New Dictionaries" menu
option, or see: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dictionaries
For a tutorial on spell checking and language configuration see:
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=67
Also when opened up "Open Office" for the first time, there was a
text message asking whether or not I wanted to register. ------- I
somehow pressed the wrong button and it disappeared: thus cannot
register. Do I get another chance or am I condemned forever??
No it's not a major issue. Registration is optional and is basically
only a little survey about how people use the software. There is a way
to get this registration message back, but I would not bother. You will
probably get another chance next time you upgrade the program anyway.
Apparently there is an "Open Office" news bulletin issued
periodically, what do I have to do in order to get this bulletin?
I am not aware of this bulletin. Where did you get this information?
See my signature below for links to some other OOo resources.
Hope this helps.
Dave
