Hello Basil,

Some programs will convert the closed MS 2007 formats into something more
readable
One is http://docx-converter.com/
But you can google for others. Don't know how good is the conversion
though...
MS is trying to lock its customers in with these docx and xlsx business.

About the Thai problem, I suggest that you check whether you 'prepared'
OpenOffice.org to receive Thai text (Tools>Options>Language settings>Asian,
CTL etc.).
