All,
I've got a typical accounting use for a spreadsheet. Basically mimicing a
columnar pad.

Column A & Column B contain the dollars & cents respectively.vvMy current
solution requires me to enter the whole dollars into A, the whole cents into B.

I would like to enter the entire amount into A, then just display the cents in B & the whole
dollars in A. Here's the formula I'm using so far in Column B
"=IF(ISBLANK(A1);"";100*MOD(A1;1))"

That part works great! Only problem is I still see the cents in Column A. I
tried to change the format to zero decimal places, but it rounds the value!
Not what I want. Anyone have any ideas for formatting Column A to just show
the whole dollar amount entered?

Many thanks,
Jon Knight
Hi Jon,

Quite frankly I don't see what the problem is. I did the following

Cursor on cell A1, entered 51.32

Cell A2 =A1

Cursor on cell A1, Format/Cells First number of decimals up, then down again until it says 0. Notation becomes 0.

From then on what is shown is without decimals for cell A1. What it contains though is still the unrounded value, as can be seen in cell A2.

Jo
