MS Office can not read your letters, that's probably correct. So write to Microsoft and tell them that they need to implement support for ODF in their office suite. Or tell the receiver of your letters to install an ODF plugin for MS Office. ODF is an international standard (ISO/IEC 26300 2006) that is supported by almost everyone except Microsoft, so this is really Microsoft's fault, not OpenOffice.org's. J.R.
