Perhaps we should all learn from this experience - or that mentioned by John Jason with respect to a fellow graduate student - a certain degree of caution with regard to assessing the intelligence of those who purchase and use MS products. The empirical basis for doing so strikes me as insufficent. What we *can* do is present OpenOffice for our friends and acquaintances. If they then choose to use it, or prefer to hold fast to something they regard as familiar and «safe», is their choice.... Henri PS : One of the reasons that no one in Sweden seems to be offering OOo CDs for sale may be the widespread use of permanent internet connexions (so-called «broadband») in this country, compared to e g, the situation in the United States. With few exceptions, interested persons have little difficulty downloading from the net....
