Hope you haven't gotten to crying yet...

To add page numbers:
1. open the document you wish to add page numbers to
2. for page numbers at the bottom of the page...
  2.1. select "Insert > Footer > Default" from the menu
  2.2. select "Insert > Fields > Page Number" from the menu

There's a section in ch 4 of the Writer's Guide with plenty of additional
information on page numbering. Go to page 125 and start reading there for
additional details.
