I don't think this motherboard has a removable battery so that would require a
soldering job, if you could even find the battery and assuming that it's not
built into something else. (Laptops tend to have strange designs.) Probably
much easier to just remove the hard drive, as I mentioned above. Either one is
beyond the abilities of the average thief, and it would be pretty difficult to
pawn when the owner's name and address show up on every boot.
One reason that I am looking at encrypted hard drive on my laptop.
