Jim, to me it makes no difference which of the codes one has to enter - the decimal or the hex (the 255 limit, by the way, relates to the former) - so as far as I am concerned, the Quick Unicode Tool does indeed resolve the problem for Windows XP. You are, however, quite right about Vista ; when I try to open the «quick100.exe» file on my Vista Business setup, I receive the following message : «Cannot create the file 'quick.exe'. According to Windows the reason (00000005) is : Access denied» If someone can come up with a workaround for this, I should be most grateful !... Henri
