The "joystick" is the TrackPoint (although the /original/ "TrackPoint", in the 80s, was an mouse that could also be turned upside down, clamped to the chassis, and used as a trackball). The UltraNav is the more complex ThinkPad T-series equipment that includes both a TrackPoint and a touchpad.
