I'm running into a persistent formatting problem. It is a quote
within brackets, which seems to prevent the sentence from wrapping
around in a normal way.
example:
... to "the awareness of love's presence" (ACIM:Introduction), ...
in this case it is the (ACIM:Introduction), which ends up pulling
the -- presence" -- to the next line, even though there is plenty of
space for the word on the previous line.
As someone has already said, this is apparently a known bug: see
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=83649 . As I read
the bug report, this does not need to be voted for since it has
already been fixed, but not soon enough for version 2.3.1.
Meanwhile, here is a workaround. There is a facility for inserting a
"definite separator" within a word to indicate where hyphenation
should take place when necessary at the end of a line. Type
Ctrl+hyphen to insert this separator just *before* the space where
the problem is occurring - between the closing quotation marks and
the space. (Don't put the separator after the space, or else it will
appear as a visible hyphen in the printed document.)
By the way, your message arrived three hours before you claimed to
have sent it. You may like to correct either your system clock or
(more probably) your time zone, as your messages will sort improperly
as they are.
I trust this helps.
