I am using the latest version of Openoffice.org (downloaded today), mainly
because I wanted to use Impress instead of Powerpoint.

I am very impressed with the product, but have found one major drawback, and
this concerns the ability to go back during a slide show. In Powerpoint, using
the mouse wheel, you can go back one step e.g. if you have just faded in a
picture on a slide, the mousewheel will take you back to the slide as it was
before the picture was inserted. With Impress, however, it takes you back to
the previous slide. the same occurs even if you use mouse right click and
select previous - you get the previous slide, and not the previous state of the
current slide. This is a major drawback when giving a presentation - important
enough to make me stick to Powerpoint 2000 even though that version of
Powerpoint lacks many of the features of Impress e.g. exit effects etc.

One other thing I have noticed which seems to apply to all OpenOffice
documents, is that there is no keyboard shortcut to alter font size. IN MS
documents, you can increase the font size simply by doing CTRL-] and decrease
it by doing CTRL-[ while highlighting the text. This facility makes it very
much us easier to alter font size, and I can't imagine it would be too
difficult to implement.

In Write, I was disappointed to find that it is not possible to insert a
picture into a text box - though that is not an insurmountable obstacle.

I hope that these features can be implemented in a future upgrade.

Sincerely
