Hi

Could you give me more information regarding the email of December 18,
2007:

<Thank you for sending the error report generated by the OpenOffice.org
error report tool. Your error report has been received and will be
evaluated. The ID of the error report is rjd7f9>

Included the software I use with Excel from Microsoft. OO can't translate
this software with you.

Thank for your great collaboration

This is the users list of OpenOffice.org. We certainly haven't received any
error report generated by whatever tool...
Maybe if you state your question or problem clearly, we can try to point you
to a solution.

Normally OpenOffice.org has no problems reading MS Excel files, unless they
contain VBS macros, as OOo's Calc uses the Starbasic macro language.
Hi Pierre,

The automated error reporting system sent the report to the OpenOffice.org QA team. Since the MSO file specifications are not public knowledge this is one of the tools needed to accurately build filters that can read the data files. The error report ID is for internal tracking purposes only and is not directly equivalent to say a Defect Ticket number with a commercial package.

However - you can, as a user, create an account at the main OpenOffice.org web site and then submit a Defect report to the actual defect tracking system. When you do this the defect is flagged as unconfirmed until it can be reproduced by one of the QA team members - either in SUN or one of the community members. Sometimes this can be difficult. If you include the error report ID that you received in the response email it helps both to move the issue from 'unconfirmed' to 'New' and to actually troubleshoot the problem.

That said, and following up on Guy's comments - this is a User to User support venue. Perhaps someone here can offer some insight to a work around if the problem persists.

I HTH

Drew Jensen
