There are different versions of X11 for different Mac OS X versions. The Panther (Mac OS X 10.3.x) version can be downloaded from the Apple website, the Tiger (10.4.x) version sits on the Mac installation disks, the Leopard version (10.5.x) is installed with the OS by default. What version of Mac OS do you use on your iMac?
