I am using OpenOffice2.3.
My problem is this:
I just created a new tab in a CALC sheet by copying an existing tab
that was created in EXCEL. When the sheet was complete, I saved
it. I was given two options: save in existing Windows Office 95, or
save to the new format. I chose the new format.
When I tried to print the sheet on the screen I got the error
message: "THERE IS NOTHING TO PRINT. THE SELECTED PRINT RANGE OR
SHEET IS EMPTY"
When I tried to view the document, using the PAGE PREVIEW button, an
entirely different sheet was displayed (the latest tab in the
Windows 95 format).
The obvious cause of this is that you have a Print Range defined on
another page or pages. This restricts Calc to printing just the
areas that you have included in the Print Range. And it's important
to understand that a Print Range applies to a complete spreadsheet,
not just the sheet that it is on. In other words, if you define a
Print Range anywhere in the document, only those sheets within the
definition will print at all. If this is not what you currently
want, the simple solution, then, is to remove this restriction by
opening the relevant sheets and going to Format | Print Ranges > | Remove.
The only way I could get the sheet to print was to go to
FORMAT/PRINT RANGES/DEFINE and highlight the entire page. Then print.
How can I get the sheet on the screen to print automatically??
If you want to override the defined Print Range without deleting it,
you can select all or part of the relevant sheet and then use File |
Print... and choose Selection under "Print range". A quick way to
select an entire sheet is to click the small rectangle in the top
left corner - where the column and row labels meet.
I trust this helps.
