I'll try to give this a try later today, but it would be helpful to have a bit of clarification. As things currently stand, the square brackets surrounding the bibliography entry number are automatically generated by the list style. So when you say "Insert this variable in the the square brackets in your bibliography list," do you mean I should do this as part of the list style, or do you mean I will have to manually type the square brackets myself as part of each bibliography entry?
