The easiest way is probably to setup autocorrect. Search for the proper fraction format of 1/3 while in 'insert > special character' (U+2153). Insert it into a document, then copy it. Select 'tools > autocorrect', and in the "replace" box enter 1/3, and in the "with" box paste in what you have copied.
