Suppose I've set references named R1 and R2 in my document, and I

the world, so I'd like to change them. How can I do that? They're
displayed in the Navigator, but I can't find a way to edit them.
Highlight the text that you've set the reference on, press Ctrl-F2,
click on the References tab, select Set Reference, type in the new name.
It'll kill the old reference - but that fact might not show up
immediately. That said, you'll probably lose any links to that reference.
I don't seem to see this behavior. Setting a new reference on top of text that
already has a reference seems to simply add a new reference to the same text.
(In fact, this is what I'd expect. Why should it not be possible to have more
than one way to refer to the same place in a document?) Saving and closing the
file and then reopening shows that both references continue to exist. It does,
however, lead to a new question: how do I delete a reference I've set? The
online help suggests that this should be possible via the "Edit Field" dialog,
but I can't find a way to get this dialog to open for the references I've set.
