Oh, goody. I'm using OOo 2.3.1 on WinXP. Here are a couple examples of

Perhaps there is some paragraph setting I need to tweak. If so, any
idea which it might be? As I said, no hyphens are being introduced, so
I don't think this is a hyphenation issue.
Format it as "no language".
