Thanks.
Java is indeed installed at the location you suggest, but I tried to
add that in the openoffice.org preferences and I get the message
"The folder you selected does not contain a Java Runtime Environment."

Dear all,
when starting OO on Mac Os X, I get the following message.
javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!
This is not a big problem, everything works fine, except for Macros.
If I want to run macros apparently I need a JRE.
I know a JRE is installed on Mac OS X, but I can't find where it
is, and even if I knew I wouldn't know how to tell OO to use that
JRE...
Thank you in advance for any help...

JRE should be in /Application/Utilities.To enable go to
OpenOffice.org/Preferences/OpenOffice.org/Java.
Select 'Use a Java runtime environment'. OOo usually searches for
available versions of JRE. Select the newest version. If it doesn's
list any, click Add and set the JRE location.
