I forgot to mention.  When you install the Word viewer, it will make
itself the default application for Word files.  You'll have to reset it,
for .DOC, but not .DOCX files to OpenOffice, by following these
instructions:

Changing file associations

Right click on file icon
Select Open With > Choose Program...
Check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and
choose the desired application.

At the moment, you can't open those Office 2007 files, unless you have
the Novell version of OpenOffice.  Such support is planned for a future
release.  What you can do in the mean time, is to get the free download
Microsoft Word Viewer and Compatibility Pack, both available here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD102258581033.aspx.

With those installed, you'll be able to view Word 2007 files and copy 'n
paste the contents to your documents.
