Hello,

• The version you installed still uses the X11 windowing program. The Aqua
version (that doesn't need X11 anymore) is in development. You can already
use it (and maybe contribute to throw out some bugs), but it isn't advisable
to use it for production work (you find the Aqua version on the mac porting
pages).

• When X11 starts, it always opens the xterm window (there are commands that
prevent it from doing so, but I don't remember them and they are different
for different versions of the OS and X11). You can always click on the red
button to make xterm go away.

• To avoid the 'command timed out' message, you can start X11 manually (the
program sits in Applications>Utilities) before starting OpenOffice.org.

• Normally the OOo Document Recovery only appears when OOo wasn't closed
properly in the previous session. Do you close OOo normally (Apple-Q or
File>Quit), or do you just close X11? In the latter case it's normal that
the Recovery is activated when OOo starts up again.
