[users] Trimming photographs

I am using 2.3 version of OpenOffice.org. My problem is in trimming 
photos, which I want to do in 1mm stages. I have followed the 
OpenOffice instructions "Selecting Measurement Units" and have thus 
changed the units for OpenOffice.org Draw from the cm units to the mm 
units. However I find I can still not actually trim in one or two mm 
at the time - the cut is in huge jumps, so I find I cannot get 
anywhere near trimming as closely as I want to. Is the program set to 
only cut off large chunks? Am I doing something wrong? I would be 
grateful for help/advoce to rectify this problem.
