The latest version is 2.3.1 which is free to download from 
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
DSE are often out of date.

Not all powerpoint presentations work in OpenOffice.org. If you are
doing a degree then you can do a lot of work at home in OO.o but should
always double check it in the equivalent Office tool before submitting
it. I would hate to see you fail a subject because your document did not
work on your tutors computer.
