Have you looked at TiddlyWiki (http://tiddlywiki.com/)? It's about the
coolest thing since sliced bread. You can integrate it with OO.o by using
the Externalize Plugin (http://visualtw.ouvaton.org/VisualTW.html) with OO.o
as your external editor. You'll have to use Firefox because the Externalize
Plugin wants the "It's All Text" Firefox extension. I've even used OO.o
Writer with the Zotero macro to edit my wiki with footnotes and references.
If you want to collaborate without passing the file around, then set up your
wiki at tiddlyspot (http://tiddlyspot.com/) and you should be good to go.
