I am using version 2.3 of OpenOffice.org. My problem is:I can't open my vista word 2007 documents. When trying to, i get asked to select a filter, but windows vista does'nt show up as an option. I noticed that the vista documents are of the type ".docx" which is'nt listed as a supported filetype. Is it possible to download that filter somewhere, or do i need to find another program? OpenOffice does not yet support the new Office 2007 file formats. You'll have to save in an older format. An alternative is to download and install the free Microsoft Word Viewer and Compatibility Pack, which will allow you to open those files and then cut & paste the contents into Writer.
