You are using Span mode, which makes the two monitors appear to be a single wide monitor. That's why the presentation appears in the middle. It thinks it has only one big display space. Check for other available modes. There should be at least one that makes two separate video spaces (but not the one that makes them clones of each other). I don't know if OOo will then allow you to pick the other monitor for separate display of the slide-show, but you'll be at least one step closer.
